Creating

A big part of Ramon Lormans’ passion is creating new things. It can be new works for mallets or percussion or any chamber setting. He collaborates with many manufacturers of instruments and mallets, and endorses Adams Percussion & Schlagkraft mallets. Besides he recorded many albums which you can read and listen to. 

Commissions

While being the oldest instruments in history, the marimba & percussion are still in Stone Age of development if you compare it to instruments like piano or violin. Traditions still have to be built and developed, and that’s why Ramon is always in search of new works. His process with the composers is different then just giving a commission. He likes to work closely with them, checking all details and having active conversations and try-out sessions in the making process.

Instrument development

As a marimbist / percussionist you are used to build setups and come up with many practical solutions along the repertoire. But there is always a wish for more and new inventions. Ramon has been actively developing and building very small to very large instruments either himself or together with manufacturers like Adams Percussion and Schlagkraft mallets.
