‘Hier om de Hoek’ is a musical interweaving of beautiful, cinematic songs about one village community.
A unique portrait of time, told in adventurous compositions.
A street full of newcomers, a church without a congregation, the first day of school, the last local shop, the buzzing annual celebration, the silent river, the agreement, the disagreement, the sudden standstill, the inescapable progress; 'Here around the corner' is a musical mosaic story, a mesh of stories that together provide a picture of a modern village community.
And Here around the corner is a musical experience that showcases the sound of a community. The project brought together a very diverse and wide range of musicians from one region; from the children's choir to the church organist, from modern jazzy brass to baroque violas.
The result is a surprising and moving picture of the times, told in adventurous Dutch-language compositions.
